Diet During IVF Treatment

While good health is always essential, an alkaline diet benefits your infertility status.  The best way you can maintain a proper blood pH balance is to avoid acid producing foods and increase consumption of alkaline foods.  During your IVF treatment cycle, we recommend that you control of what ingredients you eat; prepare your own food as much as possible, do not eat out.

Diet for HER during IVF treatment:

We recommend a diet that is heavy on fruits and vegetables such as below list:

Artichoke, Asparagus, Avocado, Beets, Bell peppers, Bok Choy, Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Carrots, Celery, Cucumber, Eggplant, Fennel, Figs, Garlic, Grapefruit, Grapes, Kiwi, Lemon, Lettuce, Mango, Mellons, Nectarine, Olives, Onions, Orange, Peach, Pear, Raisins, Spinach, Salads, String beans, Tomatoes and Zucchini

Drink plenty water with PH=8 or higher

Avoid the following:

  • All dairy products such as milk and milk by- products, yogurt, cheese
  • Proteins such as meat, poultry, eggs and all meat & chicken by-products
  • Legumes
  • Can consume wild caught fish once a week

Diet for HIM during IVF treatment:

For man we recommend diet that is concentrated on proteins such as below list:

  • Proteins such as meat, poultry, eggs and fish
  • Dairy products such as milk and milk by- products, yogurt, cheese
  • Legumes

Drink plenty water with PH=8 or higher

Avoid the following which we recommend both for HER & HIM

  • Sports drinks (most of them contain corn syrup or too much sucrose)
  • Caffeinated beverages
  • Carbonated beverages
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Smoking

 In addition following are recommended:

  • taking prenatal vitamins & folic acid (for her)
  • managing your stress
  • exercising and controlling your weight
